Caring for newborn babies is the most important thing of all for any new parents. There are various things that you need to take care of for your newborn baby so that they remain happy and healthy.

The first thing is deciding how you are going to feed your baby. It is difficult a decision to make the choice of breastfeeding or bottle feeding. According to the physicians if you are capable of breastfeeding then you must breastfeed but you do have a choice. If it is possible for you to breast feed even if just for a week you should try, you may find that you love it. The mother’s milk for any newborn babies helps by giving strength to the baby’s immune system as it contains natural enzymes and antibodies, especially in the first few weeks of life.

The second thing is what makes your baby happy and healthy is the amount of sleep. If a baby gets sufficient amount of sleep then it is key, to the health of your newborn baby. . In the first 6 weeks newborn babies have crazy sleeping schedules and as new parents you have to sacrifice and struggle with your sleeping hours which are being interrupted. But after 6 weeks babies have more organized sleeping patterns.

There is no need to give daily bath to your newborn baby. Bathing them two to three times a week is enough for babies. When bathe your baby you should use sponge baths. This time you should avoid tub bathing because a newborn baby has umbilical cord and tub bathing can cause infection. Once the umbilical cord of your baby falls off you can start tub bathing.

The skin of newborn babies is very delicate and thus you should discuss any concerns with your pediatricians about which products will be safe to use for your baby.

If a baby starts crying all of a sudden then it really means that baby is trying to convey a message to you. In the first three months of their lives, babies cry the most. Normally Crying babies increase their cry steadily and the time period in which they cry can be from one hour to the whole day.

There are many reasons for the crying babies why they are crying. As a parents it is your responsibility to determine why your baby is crying or what your baby want. Here are some things for which crying babies try to make you understand.

Starvation is one of the most obvious reasons of crying babies, especially during their early months. That means, whenever they are hungry, they start crying to let you know about their hunger.

Boredom is another reason of your baby’s cry. Through crying they may be trying to tell you “Hold me now!” This type of crying is rhythmic and persistent.

Discomfort may be the reason of your baby’s crying. Babies are small and they cannot talk. In order to show their discomfort or any injury they have only mode of communication and thus they start crying. This ways of crying is usually louder and persistent then it otherwise.

There are basically three main reasons of crying babies i.e. hunger, attention and stimulation. A good way to stop babies from crying is to pick up them and play with them. However many people think that too much stimulation may be spoiled your baby’s habit. But you should also keep in mind that stimulation is very important need of a baby especially during their early months.

The kind of toys that your child needs, changes as they grow and develop, in the new born stage, toys which make a noise and are easy to grasp are great which is why, one of the first toys a new born gets from doting parents or grandparents is a rattle. Rattles are wonderfully entertaining to a baby as they are fascinated with sound and color, this encourages their sense of hearing and sight, and it is also amusing for their relatives as the baby realizes they are the one making the noise.

Babies love to hold things and also put things in their mouths, as tasting is a way babies make sense of their surrounding, with that in mind, remember everything given to the baby should be big enough that they do not choke and not sharp for obvious reasons. In years gone by, there was a huge problem with toys painted with lead paint, which is one of the reasons we have the current standards in toys now.

Another great toy for babies is mobiles which hang over cots and prams, these give the baby something to focus on which is farther away and to reach out and grasp, developing eyesight and movement. A rattle which is attached to the pram or buggy is good for parents and baby as it save lose when it is inevitably thrown out of the pram. Cuddly toys which make noises are also great for this as mum is warned when a favorite toy makes a swan dive for the floor. A lost toy is not fun in a supermarket; as babies and toddlers don’t usually deal with this lose quietly.

There is a big range of developmental toys for children of all ages and stages but there is no wrong choice, is the toys fun and does the baby enjoy playing with it are the main two questions that need to be answered. Just remember don’t be upset if they enjoy playing with the box or wrapping paper more than your carefully chosen present. It is amazing what is entertaining to a child.
